The Home Trust International (HTI): What first compelled you to enter your business field?

Thierry Pigeot (TP): I dreamed about becoming an entrepreneur at a very early age…the kitchen industry happened by chance and the complexity of the projects become my passion.

HTI: Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career and why?

TP: My father.  He forced me to look at things differently. Subjectively and objectively.  He worked for Air France and had very high standards.

HTI: If you could have told your 20 year old self one thing, what would it have been?

TP: “don’t stay in your box.  There is a big giant world out there…!”

HTI: What is the best advice you have received and who was it from?

TP: My dad said “Ce qui est fait, n’est plus a faire.”   Basically, means Get your work done today and it won’t linger over you tomorrow.

HTI: Is there a common thread that runs through all great products?

TP: Products that bring great joy to the customer because of how they make a person feel overall; and then, the customer tells their friends and they tell their friends…

HTI: Do you prefer the country or the city?

TP: The city, but I enjoy the cosmopolitan suburbs of Boca Raton and the south of Europe

HTI: What recent project or transaction are you most proud of?

TP: A tie: #1 bringing my company to the United States and #2 just after moving here, the very first project -being given the opportunity to deliver the biggest kitchen in the history of Premium Kitchens in East Boca.  And directly afterwards,  #3 building a relationship with a famed builder from the Hamptons to design five spec homes and partway through, requested that we provide all cabinetry for his own home.

HTI: In what ways has your company or your industry changed over the years?

TP:  It has adapted to the American culture…the ways of the contractors in Florida differ greatly from the contractors in Europe.  The other main change is the fundamental upgrade of kitchen design & technology.

HTI: The one thing I’ve had forever is:

TP: My French accent. 🙂

HTI: What do you miss the most?

TP: Honestly, I sincerely miss the ways that Europeans plan and expedite construction projects.  They leave very little room for mismanaged time or money.

HTI: What is your favorite object that reflects extraordinary design (or love, etc) and why?

TP: Bottles of good champagne – we open them to celebrate each new client that we welcome after the design is complete.

HTI: What makes a room (or building design or your product category) sing?

TP: My design team would advise me to say balance and proportion which is absolutely true – for me, it is when the customer calls and writes to express gratitude.

HTI: What place most inspires you?

TP: Challenging golf courses I’ve played, other times, just anywhere my boat goes – time to think allows me to be inspired.

HTI: What is your favorite brand (across all categories) and why?

TP: Apple definitely. Completely innovative.  Followed by Aston Martin, world class.

HTI: When you’re not working where are you most likely to be found?

TP: Golfing. My chaise lounge on my patio, the couch in my showroom in front of the tv watching golf channel.

HTI: What makes a great organization?

TP:  For me, good organization is when everything is on TIME! and when my team collaborates.

HTI: Why The Home Trust?

TP: We are excited about the opportunity to explore a new avenue of marketing via digital pathways.

HTI: If you could be granted one wish.  What would it be?

TP: Difficult to put into exact words but 2018 is my year to figure out that for myself...! I’m often torn between things.

HTI: If you weren’t in your current field, what would you be doing?

TP: Likely something in the financial market world

Thierry Pigeot, CEO and President with Tashia Rahl, Contemporary Kitchen Designer

After 15 years in the industry, owner and CEO, Thierry Pigeot, seized the opportunity to open a kitchen design boutique where he vowed to be differ from others. He wanted fully functional kitchens where the customer could see the full installation of various styled cabinets, and even cook a meal. Moreover, his vision was to bring the general kitchen style into the neighboring room to create fluid design throughout the home. He and his team focused on the Premium Kitchens mission: to provide concierge service from the initial meeting with the client to the final inspection. The ultimate goal is to deliver the dream kitchen.  Since the first showroom in France in 2009, there are now five Premium Kitchens boutiques located throughout France and one in the United States.
